Outline of the role:

Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) are looking for new Trustees to join our Board to help tackle the challenges ahead. We would meet bi-monthly through the year, with intervening sub-committees targeting Finance, Governance and Marketing/Fundraising and a Steering Committee to focus on specific developments and the implementation of new services.

Although we look to new Trustees to strengthen the Board’s range in terms of specific skills including Finance, Legal, Marketing, Health Care, Information Technology, General Management and Transport, we realise that someone involved with the front line delivery can bring very important experience and insights on ACH’s impact and aspirations for its clients and of course those delivering its services. If this appeals to you and you can spare 6 days per year to attend Board meetings and another 4 days per year to attend one of the Board sub-committees then we would very much like to hear from you. These positions are not remunerated but reasonable expenses reimbursed.

About us:

Age Concern Hampshire is a well-respected charity offering a range of services for older people across the County. We have been an independent registered charity since 1985 with a prime focus of providing services for older persons throughout Hampshire; our head office is in Locks Heath.

Our greatest asset is the wonderful spirit and commitment of our staff and volunteers who provide a range of activities including Care and Wellbeing services from our Care and Wellbeing centres located across Hampshire. Working with our NHS partners we also provide a Hospital to Home Service, helping ensure patients return safely to the place they call home. More recently, we have increased the scope of our support in the home for our clients by launching a Help at Home and Care at Home services following CQC approval and accreditation.

When the pandemic caused an extended closure of our Care and Wellbeing centres, our staff and volunteers continued to provide vital support to clients and as soon as restrictions eased we have gradually re-opened the centres and other services to help them live safely and securely in the new “living with Covid” world. Staying afloat and reshaping our services has involved collaborative working with partners such as Hampshire County Council and the NHS.
