Testwood Lakes Sailability (TLS) is a volunteer-run charity that provides dinghy sailing for people with any disability.
We continue to seek Volunteer Shoreside Staff/Safety Boat Crew who will:
- Be able to assist sailors from reception to the pontoon if required.
- Welcome the sailor and career onto the pontoon and introduce them to the dinghy skipper.
- Ensure that the Buoyancy Aid is fitted correctly.
- Assist the sailor to access the dinghy. If this requires the use of a hoist this will require two Shore Crew to complete.
- Maintain radio contact with Reception.
- Record times that the dinghies are sailing.
- At the start of the day check, rig and launch the dinghies and have them ready on the pontoon to receive sailors.
- At the end of the session store the dinghies in the yard.
Volunteers will receive training for all of the above tasks.
