Making Space is a small but ambitious arts charity dedicated to providing high‑quality craft education, artist support, and creative opportunities for people of all ages. We believe in the power of making — to build confidence, connection, and community.

We are looking for new trustees to join our board and help guide the next stage of our development. 

Skills

You don’t need previous board experience — what matters most is your commitment to creativity, community, and good governance.

We’re particularly interested in people with skills or experience in:

  • Fundraising / income generation
  • Marketing, communications, or digital engagement
  • Legal / Governance expertise
  • HR advice / strategy

As a trustee, you will:

  • Help set our strategy and ensure we deliver meaningful impact
  • Support our small staff team
  • Champion good governance and financial sustainability
  • Bring your perspective, ideas, and lived experience to the table

Time commitment:

  • There are 5 scheduled meetings per year (evenings, hybrid options available)
  • Occasional support between meetings depending on your interests
