Role Description. We are always looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help support the increasing number of events that Minstead Trust hold throughout the year. These can range from a celebration wine and cheese evening and outdoor theatre production in the glorious setting of Furzey Gardens, to a spooky night of murder mystery in our stunning Victorian Lodge! Alongside the events organised by us, we also participate in a number of local fundraising and community events, helping to raise much needed funds and increase awareness of the important work that we do.
Our Event Support Volunteers play a crucial role in providing those extra pair of hands which help to ensure every event is a great success. The wonderful variety of events offers a number of different ways to get involved, the chance to meet new people and the opportunity to join a happy team of like-minded volunteers.
Event Support roles could include (but are not limited to):
· Meet & Greeters - welcoming visitors to one of our Minstead Trust events
· Car park attendant (complete with High –Vis vest!!)
· Bar staff – serving drinks and light refreshments
· Being part of a fundraising team with collection buckets / tins or selling raffle tickets
· Helping to run a fundraising or information stand in the local community to raise money, awareness and to recruit new volunteers
· Attending team charity events and representing the Trust as an ambassador for our cause.
Availability. This role really can be as flexible as you need it to be! Weekdays or weekends, daytime or evenings, we usually have something going on that you can get involved with. Even just the occasional hour of your time really can make the greatest impact! Access to a car would be advantageous due to the location of some of our sites but don’t let that put you off.
Skills
Who are we looking for? Friendly, cheerful and dynamic, this voluntary role requires someone who really enjoys engaging with the general public, meeting new people and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. A great team player, this role would ideally suit someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and who is prepared to get stuck in!
No previous experience is necessary as we will ensure you are given all the support and training required to carry out your role safely and effectively, and to make sure your volunteering experience is always a positive one!
