Car Drivers

Do you have some time to spare and feel able to do your bit for the community by joining the Group's small, but very willing, band of volunteers....all of whom may claim expenses so no-one need be out of pocket. Drivers should live within 2 miles of Horndean. The Voluntary Care Group provides transport for clients mainly to medical appointments and for shopping trips, both within Horndean and further afield e.g. Portsmouth Hospitals. We are recruiting drivers who are able to give as much or as little time as they have available to drive our clients to their appointments. Clients may live in Horndean, Catherington, Blendworth or Lovedean. The Group is well aware that volunteers have other commitments, so you will always be at liberty to say 'no' to any task requested. We are staffed entirely by volunteers. Support and supervision given.

We also need volunteer coordinators whose job it is to take telephone requests from clients and to book drivers to fulfil the requests. Our coordinators generally commit to one or two weeks on a rota system which can be flexible and training and support is given.

Skills

Full clean driving licence for drivers. Drivers should live within 2 miles of Horndean.
