Saturdays in retail: Recently opened pre-loved fashion boutique in central Winchester.

Emmaus Hampshire recently launched a pre-loved fashion boutique in Winchester, and would like to hear from people who can contribute to the successful establishment of this exciting new venture for the charity.

We are looking for volunteers who can reliably commit 1 day/week, on a Saturday, to help operate the new store, working alongside our Companions. Teamwork will be essential. In addition skills in interacting effectively with customers, and pricing and merchandising of donated pre-loved clothing would be valued.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a charity whose mission is to be ‘Hampshire’s unique solution to homelessness’. A thriving social enterprise community, we provide a home, meaningful work and counselling to help our formerly homeless Companions regain their independence.

Skills

1. Team work: Form and operate an effective team, in the store, with the Emmaus companions.

2. General retail skills: Effective customer interactions, pricing donations for sale, and attractive merchandising. Establish this new charity shop as a "go-to" store in Winchester.

3. Commitment and reliability: The shop will be open 6 days per week and will be reliant on a fully-staffed volunteer/companion team to operate.
