We are looking for Dementia Companions to join our team, spend quality time with our residents offering them activities both individually and as group.
We have a pub to enjoy a drink (non-alcoholic) and some fun pub games, we have beautiful grounds to walk around and enjoy the animals, we have a lovely gardening area, so green fingers are welcome. Many of the residents enjoy outdoor activities for example football and tennis along with many other outdoor games. Some residents would prefer a sit down with a cup of tea and a chat. We have many activities including reminiscence, dementia friendly technology and dementia friendly games.
We promote the Namaste program (full training offered) this is a lovely activity to enjoy one to one time with a resident at a sensory level. We would offer a full induction in to the home and basic Dementia training along with support and guidance as required. We would also welcome our Dementia Companions to drive our mini bus or people carrier to enjoy regular outings.
Skills
Patience, reliability, empathy, good sense of humour, caring attitude, fun, non-judgmental, someone wanting to spend quality, fun, happy and enjoyable time with our resident.
