Opportunities with Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE against time)

We are a group of people from the Ringwood area seeking to address climate change. We want to create a CIO and in order to do that are seeking 1-3 experienced trustees who will be willing to work with inexperienced trustees to establish and run the charity. We believe the Charitable Purpose would be:
"For the public benefit, of those living and working in the Ringwood area, for the protection and preservation of the environment, in particular, but not exclusively by:
(a) the promotion of waste reduction, re-use, reclamation, recycling, use of recycled products and the use of surplus;
(b) advancing the education of the public about all aspects of waste generation, waste management and waste recycling;
(c) advancing the skills of the public to enable reuse and upcycling of unwanted items;
(d) the promotion of planting native trees and hedgerows;
(e) advancing the education of the public about climate change."

The Facebook group was only established at the end of September and already we have work streams to: 1. Establish plastic free status for the town and ensure we have the right recycling facilities and education. 2. Plant 20,000 trees in 2020. 3. Create a repair workshop to encourage people to learn the skills to reuse and repair rather than buy new. 4. Run an ECO Fair on 16th May to educate, publicise and support our work streams.

We want to be an action oriented charity that enables individuals and self-organising teams to get things done, but we know that we need help to set the charity up in the right way and to ensure that it is sustainable.
