*Corona Virus update* due to the current situation we are asking our volunteer drivers to help us deliver activity packs and other resources to the children we work with. We hope to resume activities as soon as possible. We would be happy to take your details, either to help us deliver packs and/or to be involved at a future date. Please let us know when applying how you would like to be involved.*
New Forest Young Carers supports children and young people from the age of 7 to 18, who have someone at home with a long-term illness or disability.
Our young people are scattered right across the New Forest, and often need transport to get to us. Sometimes we use mini buses - and we would love to hear from you if you would be willing to drive a bus for us occasionally. MiDAS training can be arranged.
But we also need people who would be willing to use their own cars to collect young people from home, bring them to our activity and then take them home afterwards. We would of course pay expenses/mileage and you would be welcome to stay for the activity if you wanted.
This would be a flexible volunteering opportunity as our activity times vary. School holidays tend to be busier for us, but we also occasionally run sessions in the evening and at weekends. Due to demand, we are particularly keen to hear from potential volunteers in Totton and the Waterside.
Skills
You need to be patient, have a driving licence and insurance and be willing to drive children around.
