New Forest Young Carers supports children and young people from the age of 7 to 18, who have someone at home with a long-term illness or disability.
Our young people are scattered right across the New Forest, and often need transport to get to us. Sometimes we use mini buses - and we would love to hear from you if you would be willing to drive a bus for us occasionally. MiDAS training can be arranged.
But we also need people who would be willing to use their own cars to collect young people from home, bring them to our activity and then take them home afterwards. We would of course pay expenses/mileage and you would be welcome to stay for the activity if you wanted.
This would be a flexible volunteering opportunity as our activity times vary. School holidays tend to be busier for us, but we also occasionally run sessions in the evening and at weekends. Due to demand, we are particularly keen to hear from potential volunteers in Totton and the Waterside.
You need to be patient, have a driving licence and insurance and be willing to drive children around.

When can I volunteer?
Start Date: 09/05/2019
End Date: 31/05/2021
Our activities mainly run early evenings, weekends and during the day in the school holidays. We usually issue volunteers with a list of dates for the next month or so and ask who is available so we are flexible and do understand that you might not be able to help because of other commitments.
