Volunteers’ Manager

We are looking for volunteers to support the planning and running of the annual Emsworth Show, which is open to all the family with craft, gardening & food stalls, as well entertainment for all. The show takes place in the New Life Church Grounds off Thorney Road in Emsworth on the Bank Holiday Monday in August. Planning for this event tends to start in January/February and the set up for the event at the grounds takes place from the Friday prior to the show on the Monday. There is a core team of volunteers that oversee the planning and set up of the show and they are keen to hear from volunteers who would be willing to help. The team is looking to fill a number of volunteer roles.

The Volunteers' Manager role involves:

• Keeping a register of volunteers following rules of data protection
• Liaising with other managers to find out their manpower requirements
• Gathering in forms from volunteers, seeking new ones
• Allocating volunteers to teams according to their preferences in early July
• Keeping team managers informed of their team rotas
• Starting to mail out envelopes to the volunteers with all the information they need, briefings, lunch tickets, etc in mid-July
• Standing by to assist where needed on the show day, using reserves, based at the Information Tent. Sending out thanks from the Chair to all volunteers after the show, including individual thanks from other teams as needed
