Volunteer Catering Manager and Assistants

We are looking for volunteers to support the planning and running of the annual Emsworth Show, which is open to all the family with craft, gardening & food stalls, as well entertainment for all. The show takes place in the New Life Church Grounds off Thorney Road in Emsworth on the Bank Holiday Monday in August. Planning for this event tends to start in January/February and the set up for the event at the grounds takes place from the Friday prior to the show on the Monday. There is a core team of volunteers that oversee the planning and set up of the show and they are keen to hear from volunteers who would be willing to help. The team is looking to fill a number of volunteer roles.

A very key role – we pride ourselves on giving our loyal volunteers and VIPs and judges a good experience.

The role involves:

• Planning and provisioning teas, coffees, bacon butties, lunch and teas for volunteers giving substantial time over the Show weekend.
• Liaising with the volunteers’ Manager, with ‘tickets’ for bacon rolls/lunches/teas for over 150 people.
• Liaising with NLCC with provision of dining space and servery.

Skills

 Catering expertise preferred and good customer service skills.
