Winchester Street Reach would welcome anyone who is interested in being part of our board of Trustees who meet six times a year. We are a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO) working with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged 11-18 (up to 25 with additional need) in Winchester and the surrounding areas.
Established in 1983, our work is open to all young people and is particularly targeted towards those experiencing disadvantage. Our approach in working with young people is primarily through Detached Youth Work or outreach work in local communities. We build relationships with young people in order that we may offer support, advice and opportunities. We run a youth club in Micheldever village and also offer drop-in projects and trips.
We are looking for volunteers to join our board of Trustees. Winchester Street Reach is managed on a daily basis by a professional team of well qualified staff which include a Project Manager, Project Administrator and fundraiser, and a team of vibrant and enthusiastic youth workers. The vision, strategy and charitable oversight of the organisation is the responsibility of the trustees who support the Project Manager and staff, making financial and project related decisions and assist in the recruitment of new staff and Trustees.
Trustees are elected for one year at a time, a commitment of two years is preferable as this provides stability and ensures knowledge and experience can be passed on.
