Telephone Support Associate

We work closely with families in the community, many of whom are refugees that have been placed in housing following incredibly traumatic and stressful circumstances. These individuals can often feel isolated and unfortunately often lack support. Telephone Support Associates are matched with an individual or family and will act as a point of contact for them.

Telephone Support Associates will be matched with those that do not require regular face-to-face contact with someone but instead would benefit from a weekly phone call from one of our volunteers who can ‘check-in’ to not only see if they have any concerns but to provide an opportunity to develop relationships with the local community.

We ask that Telephone Support Associates commit to one phone call per week. You will be closely supported by our Community Outreach Director.

Our next Volunteer Induction will be held on 13th August 2022 in Havant.

Skills

Volunteers must demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills and, whilst no formal experience is required in this area, they must be able to show that they can understand and empathise with the needs of the people with whom they will be working.

They must be reliable, professional and trustworthy and have a keen desire and enthusiasm for being part of our organisation.
