Social Group Leaders - Countywide

Thanks to National Lottery funding, Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW are excited to be expanding their services across Hampshire in 2024 and are looking for people to Lead our Support & Social Groups across the county, for 3 hours once every week.

We arrive at 12.30pm to set up the room with various activity tables to include arts & crafts, cognitive stimulation games and reminiscence. We also have a conversation table and a quiet table for those that wish to chat or read the newspaper.

We serve tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the two hour social.

The Group Leader will coordinate the group on the day, and work with our Peer Support Coordinator to plan and organisation the annual day trip, Christmas Party and any other activities/outings.

Skills

This role would suit anyone that is kind and caring and enjoys helping others. Lived experience of dementia through caring for a loved one or working in social care would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. You will need to be confident, a good communicator, and have experience of facilitating events or groups.
