Here at Recovery Focus and Richmond Fellowship we believe that some of the most valuable support anyone can give to somebody going through mental-health recovery is from a place of empathy and kindness.
Your role will be to work alongside our recovering clients in a 1-1 setting a few hours a week in order to provide your experience, empathy and support to aide them in their recovery. You will be a compassionate voice to talk to and will help empower them to fulfill their daily activities such as shopping, going for a coffee, or simply going for a walk in addition to deciding support plans and goals together.
The position of Recovery Supporter is there for you if you are a compassionate individual with a heart for Mental Health support who has a few hours a week to spare and wish to “give back” and provide your own valuable experiences and empathy to support our clients who are going through recovery.
You will be fully supported by our Peer-Support Coordinator and will be given a full induction, support and training. There is also potential to join our free “level 2” accredited qualification in “Volunteer Mentoring and Support” should you wish.
We are excited to present this opportunity to allow members of the public to support vulnerable people in society and look forward to hearing from you.
