Practical Conservation tasks with the New Forest National Park Authority

Do you enjoy being out and about in the New Forest? Why not join our conservation team? We are looking for enthusiastic and hard working volunteers to undertake rewarding practical conservation tasks across the New Forest National Park.

Role Description:

You will be part of a team of enthusiastic volunteers working together to help restore and enhance wildlife habitats.

Key roles include:

  • Working out doors, sometimes in relatively remote sites, from around 10am until 3pm on days between October and March (inclusive).
  • Using hand tools to clear invading scrub from valuable grassland and wetland habitats or helping to restore and enhance hedgerows and woodlands through hedge laying, coppicing and removal of invasive plant species.
  • Using bowsaws, loppers, billhooks and pruning saws you will work in a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help enhance some of the New Forest's precious countryside. Cut vegetation may be burned on site.
