Everyone loves receiving letters in the post! Hammersley Homes are seeking young volunteers to write letters, or postcards, to vulnerable adults living with mental health challenges. These adults also receive support from our Outreach Support Service. When young volunteers turn 18, they will be able to join the Outreach Support Team! The pen-pal scheme provides friendship through sharing stories and connecting with others.
We are thankful of the kindness and generosity from our volunteers, and our clients are hugely appreciative. Having contact with someone through the post is exciting, comforting, and inspiring. We match clients and volunteers who have common interests to encourage meaningful conversations which both peoples look forward to reading and responding to.
You can write a letter or a postcard. You can even show your creativity by drawing a picture or writing a poem!
