We are looking for warm and friendly volunteers to welcome our visitors to the Coach House.
Typical tasks and duties:
• Greet our visitors as they come in and welcome them to the visitor centre.
• Offer an introduction to visitors when requested and/or appropriate to do so, including background information relating to the Park, the Coach House (and its facilities) and the National Lottery Heritage Project.
• Help with administrative tasks, such as answering the phone, handing out leaflets/guides and basic reception duties.
• Answer questions or queries from visitors, such as directions, opening times etc and direct more complex questions to a member of staff, if necessary.
• Supervise visitors in relation to health and safety and the rules of the visitor centre. Raising minor issues with visitors directly and referring any escalating problems to a member of staff.
• Assisting in the case of an emergency, such as a fire and following the necessary procedures.
Skills
Skills and knowledge:
• Patient, friendly, polite. Able to communicate well with people of different ages and backgrounds.
• An interest and willingness to learn basic info about Staunton Country Park, including about its landscape, history and facilities.
• Experience of basic administration tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and presentable for volunteer shifts.
Experience and training:
No formal qualifications are required, just the above skills and knowledge. You will need to have enthusiasm for the Park and your role and be able to demonstrate this enthusiasm to visitors in a polite and friendly manner. You will need to be willing to undergo any required training, online or in person, which maybe outside your normal volunteering hours. You will volunteer alongside a member of staff.

When: After the opening of the Coach House TBC Hours/days: Shifts to be in 3-hour blocks. (Example times; 10am-1:30pm or 1pm-4:30pm) Commitment: a shift weekly (or fortnightly could be arranged) Where: Staunton Country Park (Parkland side)
