Brendoncare aims to improve the quality of life for older people, and our growing local network of social/activity Clubs are vital to combating loneliness and social isolation. They enable our members to develop relationship networks and each Club aims to respond to the interests, needs, aspirations and choices of every individual.
Our Volunteer Drivers are integral to our Clubs team as many of our members would be unable to attend without the transport offered. And it’s not just about the driving; friendships are formed, fun and laughter experienced on the journeys to and from the Clubs. We’re currently looking for more people to get involved in your local area.
You are someone who enjoys driving, and is safe and confident behind the wheel. You will have approx. 4 hours to give on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Using your own car, you will offer door to door transport to small groups of Club members.
• You must be an experienced and competent driver, with access to your own vehicle • Able to operate on your own and as part of the Volunteer team • Enjoy meeting people • Willing and able to operate within safeguarding boundaries • Willing to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check • Have a full UK driving licence and car insurance covering you to undertake the role.
