Information Research Project Volunteer

Age Concern Hampshire is an independent registered charity, working to support the ageing journey for the over-50s in the county.

To do this, we offer a range of services to support older people, their friends, family and carers:

Role description

Are you passionate about helping local charities? Would you like the opportunity to add to your work experience and develop transferable skills in a different environment? If the answer is yes, then this role is for you.

Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) needs your help with a project to update their information and resources, enabling staff and volunteers to continue providing timely, relevant information to our clients and their families, friends and carers. 

Our information and resources can include anything from a list of local/regional/national charities who provide specialist support (such as dementia or hearing loss) to details of local clubs and activities which are taking place in communities across Hampshire

You will provide valuable support and play an important role in making sure that the information and resources are up-to-date. Most importantly, you’ll be helping ACH to run efficiently, so we can keep providing valuable services to our clients.  

The role will be home-based, with regular support from a dedicated coordinator. We are open to a flexible working approach to fit around your existing commitments.

Ideally, you will be able to commit to around 4 hours per week, but this is negotiable. It is estimated that the project will take 3-4 months.


With support from a dedicated coordinator, you will:

·        Review the current information and resources available to staff and volunteers (Word document; leaflets; and posters), then research the internet and email/telephone external organisations, to update existing and identify new information and resources which will be of relevance and use

·         Organise and present the new and updated information and resources in a concise, structured format, in preparation for transferring the information and resources online

·         General administrative duties related to role


You’ll have an interest in Age Concern Hampshire and the work that we do, along with:

·         Ability to work remotely and use own initiative

·         Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; using and searching the internet)

·         Strong administration skills

·         Excellent organisational skills

·         Self-motivated and have good time management

·         Excellent communications skills with, the ability to clearly articulate verbally and in written form
