Being a parent has never been easy. It can be lonely, frustrating, heart breaking and over-whelming. Life-changing events can happen to anyone. All parents struggle at one time or another. That is why Home-Start is ready to support families through their toughest times. “Because childhood can’t wait.”
Home-Start works with families in communities right across the UK. Starting in the home, our approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.
At the heart of Home-Start are our volunteers and here at Home-Start Hampshire we are looking to increase our already extensive network of volunteers.
Skills
Why volunteer?
As well as positively changing the lives of others, volunteering has a huge impact on the person giving their time. Research shows that our volunteers see:
- better health and well-being.
- improved personal and skills development.
- improved chances for work.
- and more self-confidence.
Volunteering is a great thing to do if you’re preparing to return to work or to progress your career. Or simply if you just want to do something amazing with your spare time (just a few hours of your time can make a HUGE difference to the work we do).
Please register your interest to find out more about becoming a Family Support volunteer.
The next prep course starts Thursday 22nd September, 2022 . It will be a combination of face to face and virtual sessions. Please register your interest for more information.
