Be part of the team that makes the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts come to life. This years Hat Fair festival runs over the 1st-3rd July 2022. Each year we need lots of volunteers to help keep our audiences smiling and our events running smoothly.
With so many aspects covered within the creating of such a huge festival, we need enthusiastic people for various roles from site production to information point representatives, from Green Room assistants, to event stewards, and more. Everybody has a part they can play in making this Hat Fair the best one yet, and all will be placed in the heart Winchester and the action!
This year, the Friday and Saturday festivities will see outdoor theatre, dance, comedy, music and, of course, specially invited, world class ‘hatters’ (street performers) perform in a range of locations across the historic city centre. Performances on these days will be free to attend and promise to bring diverse voices, energy, provocation, entertainment and joy to the streets. Expect the unexpected, the glorious, the beautiful, the profound and the downright mischievous on the ancient streets and spaces of the city centre. The Sunday of the festival will once again be at the North Walls Recreation Ground – a green field site close to the city centre – and will be a ticketed event creating a relaxed, family friendly day.
