Group Correspondent (Admin Support) - Home based

We are seeking a volunteer Group Correspondent to provide administrative support and ensure effective communications for our local Southampton and Winchester Group.

What does this role involve? • Preparing agendas for planning meetings with the group leader and taking minutes at the meetings • Circulating the minutes to group members, regional staff and the Association national office volunteering team • Booking venues and refreshements for meetings • Dealing with all group correspondence • Updating the group membership lists • Recording and filing documentation in line with the Associations guidlines. • Taking part in group or Association training and attending meetings as required.

Skills

We are looking for someone who is computer literate with excellent organisation and administration skills. You'll need to be able to commit to giving 2-3 hours a week and be able to attend regular monthly planning group meetings.

We’ll be providing an induction, training and ongoing support for the volunteer, but we need someone proactive in this role who is keen to be part of our local Group. An interest in health/social care, a link with MND or great administration skills would be a great match for this role. Access to a home computer and goodIT skills are required.

Availability Details

• The time commitment is flexible as this role is home based with the volunteer spending around 2- 4 hours a week carrying out the tasks associated with the correspondence for the Southampton & Winchester Group of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. • The Group meetings take place once a month in the evening in a hired room at a school in Redbridge, Southampton, so the volunteer will need to be able to attend these meetings (we do not have any local offices).
