You will help Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) to raise and receive funding opportunities that will allow us to continue to support our clients across Hampshire.
What is in it for the volunteer?
The volunteer will receive guidance, help and encouragement from the Fundraising Manager and the wider ACH management team. Whilst we operate on mainly virtual basis we do hold regular meetings either face to face or online. ACH will ensure your wellbeing is a high priority at all times and that you are fully supported in your role. As a Fundraising support volunteer for ACH, you will be able to make such a difference to us as well as to our clients.
Role Outline:
This role will involve, building relationships with supporters and third parties to maximise fundraising opportunities, which will support the charity and the needs of an increasing ageing population. The volunteer will support the Fundraising Manager with marketing activities and communications.
As an ACH Volunteer, you will be an ambassador within the local communities and be able to raise the profile of ACH and help the Fundraising Manager to identify and secure revenue from different income streams. This will include individuals, groups and organisations, onboarding corporate companies to the Corporate Companionship scheme, delivering community fundraising events and by encouraging donor solicitation and individual giving.
Key Responsibilities:
- This role will work closely with the Fundraising Manager to establish, develop and maintain new fundraising initiatives for ACH.
- Take a lead role in researching opportunities for fundraising and developing funding proposals.
- Identify opportunities and work on bid-writing and funding submissions.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and potential funders through regular communications.
Main Duties:
- Research potential grant funders and identify other revenue opportunities.
- Write, edit and submit content for funding applications and bid processes, completing documents to deadline and ensuring they are of consistent quality and style.
- Carry out unrestricted appeals.
- Provide grant administration support for grants received from funders.
- Work with our Finance team to ensure that grants and donations received are recorded appropriately.
- Ensure all donors are promptly thanked within standards set for response times and recorded on our internal database.
- Build relationships with relevant funders ensuring all donors are canvassed in an appropriate way, and provide monitoring, evaluating and reporting as necessary.
- Keep up to date with any potential project development and communicate progress to funding bodies.
- Where relevant, arrange for prospects and donors to meet with ACH Trustees and/or Colleagues.
Skills
What are we looking for?
The ideal volunteer will ideally have knowledge of, or experience in, bid writing and fundraising and possess strong communication and IT skills, in particular social media.
This role is home-based, with limited requirement for travel. However, the volunteer would participate in virtual monthly meetings and some face-to-face meetings if needed.
