Butterflies operates a community friendship service aimed at relieving loneliness. There are many people in our communities who are lonely and isolated. Our Opening doors service encourages greater social interaction through telephone calls weekly to have a general chat with those who have no friends or people to talk to.
We are also extending the service for some people to include encouraging greater interaction through a walk around the park, going for a coffee or visiting a museum.
Volunteers are not to run chores, shopping or undertake any household tasks, this is solely a friendship support service.
