Food Donation Volunteers for Community Pantry

Growing Places Nursery and Community offers a warm welcome to all. If you enjoy meeting people, are friendly, sociable and outgoing then we would love to hear from you.

We run lots of different activities and projects to help our families and the wider community.

Our Community Pantry project enables local people to get more food for less. We work with local organisations and supermarkets to help reduce food waste and improve access to food.

Volunteer roles we are looking for:

  • Delivery Volunteers
  • Collection Volunteers

The role requires volunteers to collect food, pet food and toiletry donations from retail partners that can be redistributed to local families. Donations are collected from several sources, at all times of the day. The role is flexible as the collections are regularly available, and the times/days can be agreed that you would be available.

All roles are a great way to meet lots of new people and contribute to the wellbeing of our children and guests. We work with our local community closely, and these roles all help you to feel connected. We currently have 7 community volunteers working together to run the community pantry, overseen by a community coordinator. The team manage the stock, organise collections, man the pantry, support the pantry members with shopping and additional support.
