St John's Winchester are seeking volunteers who would be able to assist our frailer residents in getting to and from our Chapel for Wednesday and Sunday morning services. This might require pushing a wheelchair or walking alongside someone so they feel supported.
Skills
St John's Winchester have their own Chapel, The Chapel of St John the Baptist, situated in The Broadway, Winchester. Services are held at 10am on a Wednesday and 10.30am on a Sunday. Many of our almshouse residents like to attend the service but find crossing the Broadway a bit of a challenge. Volunteers will receive full training and support in how to use a wheelchair.
