Ringwood Good Neighbours is a scheme to help people in the local community, providing transport for hospital/doctors/dentist appointments, befriending, etc. We cover the BH24 area only.
Coordinating the Befriending Scheme in the BH24 area will include:
- With the support of the committee, recruit and assess befriending volunteers.
- Help to ensure training needs of volunteers are met.
- Assess clients and match them with a befriender.
- Listening and supporting the volunteers regarding their befriending role.
- Report on a regular basis to the committee.
- Deal with volunteer expenses.
- Compile a list of local activities and support groups for the use of befrienders wishing to recommend additional social contact to clients.
