Befriending Coordinator

Ringwood Good Neighbours is a scheme to help people in the local community, providing transport for hospital/doctors/dentist appointments, befriending, etc. We cover the BH24 area only.

Coordinating the Befriending Scheme in the BH24 area will include:

  • With the support of the committee, recruit and assess befriending volunteers.
  • Help to ensure training needs of volunteers are met.
  • Assess clients and match them with a befriender.
  • Listening and supporting the volunteers regarding their befriending role.
  • Report on a regular basis to the committee.
  • Deal with volunteer expenses.
  • Compile a list of local activities and support groups for the use of befrienders wishing to recommend additional social contact to clients.
  • Liaise with local groups offering similar services so that facilities such as transport can be extended to our clients.
