Why volunteer with Brendoncare Clubs?
Brendoncare aims to improve the quality of life for older people, and our growing local networks of social/activity clubs are vital in combating loneliness and social isolation. They enable our members to develop relationship networks and each club aims to respond to the interests, needs, aspirations and choices of each individual.
All of our clubs are run by fantastic teams of volunteers and we’re currently looking for more people to get involved in your local area.
Who are you?
Brendoncare Clubs are looking for happy, enthusiastic individuals to help us deliver a fantastic service to the members of our clubs. Ideally, you will be a team player, happy to get involved in any aspect of the meetings whether that’s meeting and greeting, providing refreshments to the members or encouraging engagement of the activity.
What is required?
We ask for help in ensuring the venue is safe and welcoming for our members; this will include setting the room up appropriately, helping any members with limited mobility, engaging with our members and helping with the activities and refreshments. You may also have a specific skill or interest you would like to share with our members; we’re always on the look out for new activities – if so we’d be very interested to hear from you!
We ask for two satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
What are the benefits for you?
The club helper role allows you expand and develop at your own pace. We provide you with an induction, ongoing training, support and reimbursement of out of pocket/travel expenses.
This is a fantastic opportunity to give something back to the community and to experience the positive impact your volunteering can have to help improve the lives of older people in your area.
Skills
Brendoncare will help you gain experience, skills and confidence in your role and with access to support, communication and training will help you to achieve your goals.
