Admin & Fundraising Volunteer

The Elizabeth Foundation is seeking volunteers for our fast paced Administrative, Marketing and Fundraising roles. Activities may include:

  • data entry and analysis.
  • using excel and other platforms (with guidance).
  • general research.
  • creating posters.
  • stock control.
  • supporting social media and digital fundraising.
  • writing letters, proof reading and actively supporting activities at our fundraising and awareness events (for example running a stall at the summer fayre).
  • greeting visitors to the centre.
  • helping at our quiz night.
  • supporting community talks, etc.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit their time and skills at least once a week at our family centre in Cosham (remote working cannot be provided at this time), though days/times can be flexible for the right candidate.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills, able to communicate well to a diverse audience and make every guest feel that they are welcome and valued.
  • Excellent written communication skills - able to write letters, emails, design posters and provide feedback following proof reading etc. It is essential that you possess strong attention to detail as the highest levels of accuracy are required.
  • Strong IT (computer) skills with experience in creating letters, spreadsheets in Word and Excel and willing to undertake data entry/research with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge or experience of social media will be an advantage - we utilise our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help share our cause and our impact.
  • Confidential - you will be working in an environment where parents/staff may need to discuss a childs development informally and you must be relied upon to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
  • Reliability with good time keeping.
  • Have good numeracy skills - you may be asked to help with budgets, count float, donations, etc.
  • Honest and trustworthy - essential.
  • The volunteer will be required to provide 2 references and be committed to our safeguarding procedures including a DBS check.
  • Volunteers will be required to complete an application form (this is mandatory and filling out simple forms like this will be a requirement of the role itself), attend an informal interview and provide references.
  • Flexible - volunteers must be willing to adapt to the changing priorities of the team.
