28th March 2023 saw over 60 people walk through the doors of Gateway Church Fareham, all with one thing in common: VOLUNTEERING!
Jen and I, Coordinators of Community First’s Volunteering Service, hosted our second of four Volunteering Fayres across West and East Hampshire, which welcomed over 20 exhibitors all showcasing their volunteering opportunities to dozens of community members in attendance. The atmosphere was a warm one and, even though the weather brought rain, it did not stop people from popping in to discover all the opportunities on offer! One volunteer said: “Great event, so nice to meet lots of people. Wonderful opportunity to meet services in need of volunteers, I look forward to the next one!”
We were so thankful to all of the exhibitors for supporting and attending our event. One of our exhibitors said: “It was so well organised and Community First colleagues were so helpful”. Thanks again goes to our amazing Community First ‘Dream Team’ of helpers that took care of so much to ensure the day ran smoothly and successfully!
Emilie & Andy from The Brickworks Museum said: “Enjoyed free tea and coffee. Good venue, warm and inviting.”
Laura from Home-Start Hampshire fed back saying: “We made connections with other services, which was beneficial, and it was a well attended event.”
Ernie from South Central Probation Service kindly stated: “It was well laid out and easy to get to.”
Sarah from Y Services for Young People shared her success of the event: “5 volunteers and 12 in total, including partnership and signposting!”
