Our Volunteer Fayre in East Hants: 31/05/2023

1 June 2023

31st May 2023 saw over 40 people walk through the doors of Bordon’s Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, all with one thing in common: VOLUNTEERING!

And what a fantastic way to kick start National Volunteers’ Week 2023!

Jen and I, Coordinators of Community First’s Volunteering Service, hosted our last of four Volunteering Fayres across West and East Hampshire, which welcomed over 20 exhibitors all showcasing their volunteering opportunities to dozens of community members in attendance. We were also privileged to have been joined by Bordon and Whitehill’s Town Mayor, Cllr Leeroy Scott, who officially declared the opening of our Fayre.

The atmosphere was a pleasant one and the great spring weather helped many residents of the East Hants District discover all of the opportunities on offer! One volunteer said: “So many valuable connections made today. Well organised and felt impressed that there was exactly the kind of charities/organisations we wanted to see!”

We were so thankful to all of the exhibitors for supporting and attending our event. One of our exhibitors said: “Well planned and enthusiasm. Opportunity of local recognition.”

Thanks also once again, and always, goes to our amazing Community First ‘dream team’ of helpers that took care of so much to ensure the day ran smoothly and successfully!

Rachael from Autism Hampshire said: “Had good conversations and got some volunteers”

Rebecca from Barnardo’s fed back saying: “Friendly helpful staff and nice venue. Well organised with refreshments and a good chance to network”

Jess and Zoe from Hampshire County Council Waste Prevention Team kindly stated: “Very organised, clear information, nice people!”

Claire from Guide Dogs shared her favourite part of the event: “Excellent networking opportunity!””

Get involved in Volunteering today and let us help you find the perfect opportunity!
