With the end of the roadmap in sight, there’s never been a better time to volunteer in Hampshire. After month of restrictions, many organisations reliant on volunteer effort to help deliver their services are planning for the future and are looking to recruit new volunteers.
Our Virtual Volunteer Fair is a great opportunity to learn first-hand about the varied and exciting volunteering roles available in Hampshire. Forty organisations are participating in this event all seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join them in their amazing work supporting communities across the County.
These organisations are charities and volunteer led community groups offering a range of opportunities from conservation workers to community responders and befrienders to bakers. There is something for everyone! Many opportunities are flexible and can fit around work and life commitments.
There are so many reasons for volunteering:

- do something fulfilling and rewarding
- make new friends
- gain valuable work experience
The Virtual Volunteer Fair is free to attend and open to all residents interested in volunteering.

Age Concern Hampshire provides a wide range of services offering care and support to improve the quality of life for local people aged 50 and over. A wide variety of volunteering opportunities are on offer across the County.

The Centre strives to provide an accessible and inclusive centre offering a range of activities for all ages. The centre is specifically looking for a helper for helpers for social activities taking place every Wednesday as well as volunteer gardeners.

CPRE Hampshire, the countryside charity, works to promote, enhance and protect Hampshire’s thriving countryside for all to enjoy. Volunteers are being recruited for a range of roles including litter-picking, conservation, social media, website and events organisation.
Emmaus Hampshire is a vibrant and thriving social enterprise community for the homeless providing a home and meaningful work experience through retail, catering distribution and DIY services. The organisation is looking for enthusiastic and energetic volunteers for their retail outlets, bakers, furniture upcyclers & van drivers who can commit from 4 hours per week.

This volunteer-led community group currently seeking volunteers to help deliver these services to local residents including befriending, shopping and medical transport.

This volunteer-led community group looking for committed volunteers for befriending roles with local residents isolated at home.
The Southampton based branch of this national charity is working to deliver the guide dog service and other mobility services. Aiming to break down legal and physical barriers and to enable people who are blind and partially sighted to get around on their own, Guide dogs are recruiting for volunteer fundraisers, “My Sighted Guide” helpers and “Puppy Raisers “.
This charity is looking for a range of volunteers to get involved in a Home Visits Support Scheme to offer friendship and support to individuals suffering from enduring mental illness and struggling to live independently. Volunteers will help support those suffering from loneliness who find it hard to manage what we would consider to be simple daily tasks.

This department is recruiting for enthusiastic and committed individuals to work with local schools across the County as Governors. As a member of a governing body you will meet interesting new people, develop your skills, widen your experiences and ultimately influence the education of children.
The Scout movement helps prepare young people with skills for life whilst enjoying fun and adventure. Volunteer roles include leaders, trustee roles, volunteer managers and instructors.
SENDIASS is a free and confidential service offering impartial information, advice and support on issues relating to a child or young person’s special educational needs or disability. The charity is seeking volunteers to support parents/carers who have children or young people with Special education needs and disabilities.
Home-Start Hampshire is looking for volunteer family helpers, with parenting experience, who can visit and offer emotional and practical support to those struggling with post-natal depression, their or their child’s illness or disability, isolation or multiple births. This friendly parent-to-parent support is a simple yet effective way of enabling families to cope with the challenges of family life.

It’s Your Choice helps young people aged 12-25, living in the New Forest area, by providing confidential and free advice, support, guidance, and advice and is looking for trustees and fundraisers.
As a youth charity, it empowers young people to make positive life choices and offers information and advice about many issues that affect them.

Lepe Country Park is seeking Front of House attendants, events stewards and helpers & litter pickers for this Hampshire County Council shoreline country park on the edge of the New Forest.
|MHA Communities – Winchester
This local charity is seeking friendly and compassionate volunteers to offer support and friendship to older people living in their own homes. This helps to maintain independent living, improve well-being and reduce isolation.
|Milford on Sea Stroke Support Group
Stroke Association Volunteer led Groups at Milford on Sea offer on-going social and peer support to people affected by stroke. Members enjoy the company of others who have understanding of stroke and they can access information about stroke directly from the Stroke Association. Groups offer a range of activities including, arts and craft, conversation, board games and use of technology. They also enjoy an annual Christmas meal at a local hotel. The group offers a regular meeting point to increase social interaction and rebuild confidence after a stroke. Volunteers work together to run the group, supported by a Stroke Association Coordinator.
Minstead Trust is the new name for the merged charities of Minstead Training Trust and Furzey Gardens and provides training for adults with learning disabilities to help develop new skills. The trust is offering a range of opportunities including gardening volunteers and event stewards.
|PEDALL New Forest Inclusive Cycling
PEDALL provides cycling sessions for people with a disability or who need some support to cycle on off-road paths in the New Forest National Park. PEDALL is looking for more volunteers to join the team to assist with leading the rides and/or maintain the bikes.

|Ringwood Actions for Climate Change
A recently formed charity trying to address climate change at a local level is seeking volunteers to help with tree planting and maintenance, sharing skills to repair / reuse items, and maintaining the community fridge.
|Royal National Institute for the Deaf (formerly Action for Hearing Loss)
This local branch of this national charity is set up to support people who have a hearing loss or are deaf. Activities include information services, hearing aid support, lobbying, campaigning, training, advice for employers, social medical and technical research, communication services and marketing assistive products. Volunteers are sought to work in a variety of roles.
|Royal Voluntary Service – Home from Hospital Service
This service is available to patients at Winchester Hospital, Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and Alton offering support to enable readjustment at home. Volunteers will visit at home and assist with tasks such as shopping, prescriptions and befriending.
|South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS)
SCAS is looking to recruit more Community First Responders (CFRs) to join the 300 volunteers already operating in Hampshire. CFRs will receive full training to deliver life-saving skills such as the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), basic airway management, oxygen therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
|Spurgeons Invisible Walls
Invisible Walls aims to improve the lives of children and families affected by imprisonment at HMP/YOI Winchester. Volunteers are being recruited to support families though regular engagement and signposting.
|St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery
This community facility based in Lymington is seeking friendly front of house volunteers for events and general opening times. A full induction is provided.
|St John’s Winchester
One of the country’s oldest charities offering supported independent living in a friendly, social setting. The Charity is looking for friendly and compassionate befrienders who can offer support and friendship to residents.
|The Brickworks Museum, Bursledon
The Brickworks Museum is the only remaining steam-driven brickworks in the country and is housed in the original Grade 2* Listed buildings, complete with the running Victorian steam engine and machinery. The Museum is open to the public and is dependent on volunteers to carry out work. There are a range of volunteering roles available including front of house, machine restoration, collections care, family activities and manning the miniature railway.
|The Handy Trust
A small charity providing a safe venue and activities for young people on the Waterside, through youth clubs and holiday clubs. The Trust also provides confidential advice when required. The Trust is looking for committed Trustees and/or committee members to help lead the organisation.
|Tools with a Mission
Tools with a Mission collect unwanted tools, refurbish and sort them into trade kits and send them across the world for livelihood creation. Relying on volunteers for Tool Refurbishers and Tools Collectors, the organisation sends over 20 containers filled with 300 tonnes of tools every year.
|Winchester Churches Nightshelter
Providing a warm bed, nutritious food and a programme of practical and emotional support with the aim of helping residents escape homelessness and rebuild their lives for independent living. A range of practical volunteers are sought including an evening and weekend helpers and cooks.
|Winchester Good Neighbours
Winchester Good Neighbours Group helps local residents with medical transport to local hospitals, GP surgeries and other medical appointments. This volunteer-led group is looking for drivers with their own car to support and expand this much needed service.
|Winchester Street Reach
This provision of detached youth work that meets young people on their territory and on their terms helps us to recognise which young people are at risk and what their needs are. Working throughout the Winchester District (with specific projects in Weeke, Harestock, Stanmore, Winnall Alresford and Micheldever) the organization is looking for volunteer youth Workers to build relationships and trust with young people to help improve their quality of life.
